Music Notes

 
February was a busy month! Our church community offered up their many talents to the Lord. Below are a few highlights:
 
  • Betty Ann Owren brought the ingenious music of Harry T. Burleigh during a Sunday Service, followed by an in-depth look at his life and career. Thank you, Betty Ann, for sharing your many talents with St. Luke’s Church!
  • The Saturday evening Service had a new musician, Doris Reed, who did a wonderful job playing the prelude and postlude. Doris plans to play again for this Service in the future when she has new pieces learned. Additionally, has joined the church choir and is already adding much to our choral sound.
  • Thank you to St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga for allowing us to borrow a set of their hand bells for our choir anthem this previous Sunday.

Additionally, an anonymous donor generously donated a Chickering & Sons baby grand piano to the church, and it has been placed in the nursery room. Moving cost and tuning were paid for by the donor. We are very excited for this new musical addition because it will allow for a dedicated space for the choir to use for Sunday morning warm-up and rehearsals before the 10:00 am Service.
